About the Author
involved in the sport of dogs for over 30 years as a breeder, exhibitor, and international dog show judge. Her dogs have completed a total of 22 American championships and 14 obedience titles, including two incredible Bulldogs which earned the Utility Dog degree. Hier holds an MFA in painting from Michigan State University and a JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Her numerous magazine articles and illustrations have been regularly published since 1977. Additionally, she has won three Maxwell Awards from the Dog Writers' Association of America. Hier previously served as Director of Judging, Research and Development at the American Kennel Club. Among her other contributions, she was responsible for creating the majority of the organization's highly successful computer imaging programs. Hier's professional acumen as an artist, writer, and canine expert is clearly evident throughout the pages of Dog Shows Then and Now. |
